The Wolfen is a single-passenger star fighter used by the Star Wolf Team in the Star Fox series of video games. It first appeared in Star Fox 64 during Fox's encounter with Star Wolf on the planet Fichina.
Technology[]
The Wolfen is roughly built around the same technological principles upon which the Arwing is designed. The basic model is outfitted with anti-gravity G-Diffuser engines, which allow for a high range of motion in normal flying conditions. The fighter utilizes a single forward laser cannon as well as a basic shield system. The Wolfen is characterized by its four wings and distinctive profile.

When Star Wolf reappears in Star Fox 64 to intercept Fox on the planet Venom, it is evident that the Wolfen has undergone extensive revisions to its weapons and defense systems. The resulting craft, the Wolfen II, is superior to the previous fighter ship and more formidable in combat. Equipped with improvements to the G-Diffuser technology, it is faster, more agile, and capable of performing aerial tricks to outmaneuver the Arwing's lock-on systems. Whereas its predecessor utilized a single forward laser cannon, the Wolfen II is upgraded with twin cannons. In combat, the fighter's enhanced shields are able to deflect a greater amount of laser fire.

The Wolfen appears as a collectible trophy in the Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl games, and can also be seen in the background of the Corneria and Lylat Cruise levels.
