Ur-Quan Dreadnought shot (Sega Genesis version)

The Ur-Quan Dreadnought is the most powerful ship in the Hierarchy, so much that it made the entire alignment of ships as part of its name of the Ur-Quan Hierarchy.

The ship has the largest crew complement and fuel amount possible, making it difficult to defeat in battle (along with its refueling speed being fairly fast as well). It has a devastating weapon of a Fusion Blast, which can totally destroy a small Alliance ship (the Hierarchy’s enemy) with one direct hit, especially due to it also having the longest range for any Hierarchy ship. Its special power of autonomous fighters work independently upon launch as well, as they can surround and attack an Alliance ship automatically, along with possibly destroying it.

And as an added bonus, the Dreadnought can also, in a full game, automatically destroy an Alliance’s fortification by just ending its turn without needing a second Hierarchy ship to accompany it (as is required with all other ships). It is the most costly to build for a Hierarchy ship though during these full games.

However, the ship’s thrust speed is only fair, as several Alliance ships can outrun it, and its only two real weaknesses include its slow turning speed and that its autonomous fighters can perish in flight during a melee, decreasing the crew complement and bringing the ship closer to its destruction, as they can be destroyed by an enemy weapon, by running into a planet, or by being wiped out by a passing asteroid.
